Re: Y2K info
Here's our weekly update on the status of some of the Y2K problems we are
looking at now:
As I said last week, Change-A-File/Resurrection and TimeOut File Librarian are
updated for Year 2000. Updates are available now.
We continue to look at Quicken. Please follow our converstion on CompuServe,
especially if you can help with this Pascal thing (... or whatever it is). We
have not been able to find the routine which prohibits a year before 68. Please
help if you can. If you are not on CIS, please ask me for details. We have made
some headway, but can't find that darn 68.
Updates for On Balance and Bottom Line are unlikely, at least as far as I (as
the resource) am concerned.
New Y2K problems have been found in JEM Software's TotalControl add-on for the
AppleWorks 3.0 data base, in formulas which use Julian Dates. I don't know if
there will be an update to TotalControl or not. The most obvious solution is to
update to AppleWorks 5.1, where Julian dates work just fine. If you use Julian
dates in TC, now's the time to get AppleWorks 5 - any way you can.
A chart of other Year 2000 problems and solutions can be found on our web site
at http://members.aol.com/A2MG. If there is a program we can help you with,
please let me know.
The November issue of the TEXAS II newsletter is in the mail. Disk 29 is in the
mail, and all other orders are (guess what?) - in the mail! Thank you for your
support.
