There was a prototype of such an adapter for the IIGS,
which was wired to an Ethernet ISA card.

For graphics, check out http://www.sequential.com/
Sequential System's Second Sight SVGA card for the
IIGS.  24-bit color.  1024x768 resolution.  It is not an
ISA card, but a real Apple Bus card so no adapter is
necessary.
