Two things come to mind:

  -- Yes, make sure the guy can receive files properly.  Do others send
him files which function when received?

  -- When you upload the pictures, send in Zmodem-Binary protocol,
since sending a binary file as text will render the picture file
inoperable.  The heck, make sure he's downloading in binary too!
