APPLE/AOL Users question

I have a friend that just bought an Apple computer & is on AOL. Trying to
send him a vacation pictures ..one at a time in jpeg format but he says when
opens it ...empty. Does any know what format I need to send or does he have
to configure his s/w on Aol to receive pictures. Thanks a in advance
