You could post a Want to Buy ad on comp.sys.apple2.marketplace for
the IIc Technical Reference Manual. (I've never seen one; so, if you do
this, make sure the seller knows that you want info on the 65C02 op
codes and ASM mnemonics.) You can also try any local A2 or Mac club swap
meets.
Another source is the book 65816/65802 Assembly Language
Programming (by Michael Fischer from Osborne McGraw-Hill, 1986). It
includes a 65C02 data sheet with opcodes and ASM mnemonics. Since 65C02
instructions (for the 65C02 included in the IIc) are a subset of 65C816
instructions, you will get descriptions of the instructions and coding
examples.
You could call up Western Design Center (602-962-4545;
http://www.wdesignc.com ) and request a data sheet for the W65C02S
microprocessor. It will include info on op codes and mnemonics.
Actually, once you have a data sheet or other quickie listing of
65C02 opcodes and mnemonics, any good description of 6502 instructions
will be a decent guide-- you just add-in the 65C02 instructions and
experiment to get a feel for how they work. One good 6502 book is
Assembly Lines: The Book by Roger Wagner. Another good book is the KIM
Programming Manual. These are out of print but may be available via an
ad on comp.sys.apple2.marketplace or at a local A2 club swap meet.

There is sure to be; but, the error check is not something you
would normally want to get around. The error message means that you are
trying to do something to or with a file which is not allowed for that
particular kind of file. For example, you are supposed to OPEN a Text
file, not a binary file or BASIC file. Similarly, you are supposed to
BSAVE a binary file and SAVE a BASIC file.
