Installing problems with MKLinux DR3
Hi everybody out there!
I have a problem with installing MKLinux DR3:
I load all the software from the "sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch"-server
to the DEC-Station of my university and "tared" all the files
into two big files, ~90MB large. After copying the two files via
a PC on two zip-disks in binary mode, I unpacked the files on a
8200 PowerMac and did all the README-files say.
1. During unpacking the tar-files, the tar-program couldn't
unpack some (~10) files.
2. O.k., with the successfull unpacked files I tryied to install
MKLinux.
During the installation, the MKLinux-Installer had problems
with some files, he couln'd install.
The disks are o.k., I've tested that.
So, tar has problems with some files and the MKLinux installer
has some, too. Is it possiple, that the MacOS has probably problems
with large file-names, so that the tar-program can not unpack it,
and that the files on the "sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch"-server
are corrupted?? Who had the same problems as me???
Thanks for your help and for your e-mail, wish you the best,
Clemens.
