If you use Proterm and a hardware handshaking cable I guess it will work
just fine.
I experienced problems with downloads and text scrolling when Proterm
was started via the finder/ GSOS. Quiting into Prodos at startup (by
pressing the 8 key), typing BYE, then navigating and starting Proterm
was OK though.
My BBS had a portspeedsetting of 56k, and the modem was a Supra 33k6
with a hardware handshaking cable from Intrec (the company that sells
Proterm). It worked fine all the time, though not when started via
GS/OS. A Prodos 8 boot was needed here too.
