You can try to get a copy of Styleware's Multiscribe GS, a commercial
program which is almost identical to the AWGS text editor (Claris
bought Styleware later) Since it doesn't have all the AWGS overhead, it
will probably crash less often.
Additionally, you may try the various PD text editors from the FTP
sites like ground.ecn.uiowa.edu or ftp.uni-kl.de. Good Programs are
CoolWriter, Lane Roath's WriteAway and ShadowWrite and Hermes from
Bright Software. The last two are NDA's, very handy, to say the least.
