I have used ADT (forget which version) successfully on my //c. I recomend
double-checking your homebrew cable. As far as I can think off the top of my
head, you can get away with three conductors connecting the //c and PC
together, TX, RX and GND. There are some other signals that have to be shorted
out in a "self-feedback" style, to cause each computer to "convince itself"
that it's ok and ready to send...
You can also check which port you are connecting to on your PC. Maybe PC ADT
only works with port 1 & 2?
Which version of //c do you have? Probably doesn't matter. The first rendition
of the //c had some small timing bugs in it's serial port, but it hasn't
effected my usage of ADT.
