In theory, perhaps. In actual speed tests using a IIGS and Harmonie, 
parallel printing is approximately 4 times faster than serial printing. 
Give or take a little...it could be 3.74 or 3.91 or 4.03 times faster.  

So, if printing a one page word processing document from AppleWorks 
GS, for example, it'll take nearly 5 minutes for that page to come rolling 
out of a printer that's connected to the IIGS serial port, and only 1 
minute, 15 seconds (give or take a few seconds) when that printer is 
connected to a parallel interface card.

That said, when used with Harmonie, I don't know that any one parallel 
card yields better or faster results than another. There are Harmonie 
drivers for 5 or 6 different parallel cards, and as long as someone 
sticks to one of them (or a clone), they'll be fine.
