ADT, we have a problem...

I got my hands on a utility called Apple Disk Transfer version 1.21, and I
successfully got it onto my Apple //gs, using its built-in serial port and two
modems - one on my Apple and one on my IBM.

Where the hitch came was when I tried to run ADT, having carefully "preset" the
modems to use the same baud rates and thus for all intents and purposes
appearing to be a null modem link.

ADT refused to work - wouldn't get a directory from the IBM and wouldn't
receive a file.

My feeling is that ADT's machine language portion was not written for the
//gs's Zilog UART - if this is so, what do I need to patch in the ML portion,
or would it require complete re-assembly?

I've also fiddled with the //gs control panel, figuring that buffering might
have been the problem - didn't change a thing even though I had to drop back to
 2400.

HELP! :)
