Configuring IP addresses in Apple Macs

Dear group,

I wonder if anybody could be kind enough to offer some advice?

I am a simple PC user and I have been looking to install an IP addressing
protocol to our network, on which we have 2 x PCs and five Macs. Now whilst
I have been able perform the task on the PCs and to then enable the PCs to
swop emal (setting one of them up as a mail/intenet server) I have no idea
how to configure the Macs to work on the network, using IP addresing.

Can anybody please help?
