Simple.  Get Proterm A2 from http://www.intrec.com/ Intrec.
Get an Apple IIGS modem serial cable (rated at up to 56kbps) from
Intrec.  Get a null-modem box from your Radio Shack.  Get
a serial cable for your UNIX box.

IIGS<-IIGS serial cable->Null modem<-UNIX serial cable->UNIX box

Boot Proterm 3.1 from the Apple IIGS.
Set up an account for the IIGS from the UNIX box.  VT100 is a
good terminal setting for Proterm.
Log onto the UNIX box from Proterm 3.1 with VT100 emulation.

The disk drives are double density, by the way, and store 800k.

Or you could go to http://www.allelec.com/ Alltech Electronics
and buy a Focus hard drive and a Sirius RAM card.  With a
hard drive and 4MB to 8MB of memory for the IIGS, you can
run GNO/ME, a flavor of UNIX for the IIGS.  You'll probably
be most comfortable with that.
