Why not work on making HFS (and while where at it adding HFS+ support)
bootable under GS/OS?  HFS is mostly modern and certainly an
improvement over the old ProDOS FS.

There are ways to "translate" names from one filesystem to another.
GS/OS technotes suggest that applications should let the OS decide
what is valid for a filename.
