Plug in a SuperDrive and use System 6.0.1.

Slot 5 is the best.

To the card. You both regular 800k drives and 1.44MB ones in
a chain starting at the port on the card and adding by plugging
each drive into the port at the back of the previous one.

Plug card into slot 5. Set control panel's slot 5 to "Your Card."

No specific software except System 6.0.1 and it's default 3.5 driver.

It conflicts with no cards.

Look at the ftp server http://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/ in the directory
/2/apple2/apple8/Pgms for pctbootvol.shk. That's the disk image
you need to start the card.

For the old XT style MS-DOS software. I don't know which Asimov
type sites have PCT MS-DOS disk images, but that's probably
where you need to get them. Not much XT software is available
anymore. Simple programs like pkunzip will work, though (but
something like Angel, an 8-bit unzipper, will be faster even on a
regular IIGS).
