Sure it'll work with the IIGS. On System 6.0.1 (I can't remember if it's on
System 6.0 as well) there is a Driver for the StyleWriter Printer. So, use
the System 6.0.1 Installer disk to copy the needed files to your IIGS
Startup disk, and then go to the IIGS Direct Connect Control Panel to tell
the computer which printer is installed.

Although the Printer Driver supplied by Apple works with the IIGS, many
people are very unhappy with the results. There's a lot of odd spacing
problems.

But, my company - Shareware Solutions II - sells Harmonie for $20 and that's
a package of Printer Drivers for the IIGS that offers an alternative driver
for the original StyleWriter I that works much better than Apple's.

An important caveat to keep in mind is that the StyleWriter I only works
with GS/OS software. There's absolutely no way that it can be used to
print from ProDOS-8 based software such as AppleWorks Classic or ProTerm.

You can read more about Harmonie at http://www.crl.com/~joko

Or, to order Harmonie, send check/money order for $20 to:

Harmonie also allows you to connect and use Hewlett-Packard DeskJets and
LaserJets, and those HP printers _do_ work from both GS/OS and ProDOS.
