GS/OS 3.03 is supplied with System 5.0.3 and 5.0.4, so it sounds like
you have a partial install of either of these system versions on your
hard drive at present.

What sort of internal hard disk is this, and what controller card is it
using?  You may have problems installing files or booting off floppy if
you don't have a drive for the hard disk controller installed on your
system or installer disk.

To be able to use the Apple 3.5 Drive, you need the driver file called
"AppleDisk3.5" in the Drivers folder inside the System folder.  This is
normally installed as part of the system software, so it is odd that you
don't have it.

You should be able to copy it from your system disk, but I wouldn't
recommend mixing system software versions.

If you have the full set of System 6 install disks (at the very least,
the three disk set with names "Install", "SystemTools1" and
"SystemTools2"), then boot from the Install disk, go into "Customize",
select "*System 6:FDHD or Hard Disk", pick the hard drive, and install
it.

You might want to preserve your existing system folder first, in case
you have anything in there you might want to keep.  Boot from a system
floppy and rename the hard disk's System folder as something like
"Old.System".

The trick might be accessing the hard drive when booting in this manner,
because the hard disk driver might be required.


If you don't have the full set of System 6 installation disks, get them.
Don't try to do a manual install from a single bootable System Disk.
