Re: Wanted: null modem serial cable for Apple //c

Hello... I was just trying to do the same thing.
I built a cable for the null modem from DIN5 to DB9.
I had to swap the TX & RX, DTR & CTS lines and
figure that a null modem needs that change.
Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck with the
cable/ADT. I don't know -- It could be the
PC I was using (old 286), or some device
conflict inside the old 286.
The lock up was on my 286.. I used telemate
and the darn thing froze when I had the cable
plugged in, and tried to set it to where the
9-pin port was.. I checked for mouse drivers,
and disabled those, but no luck..
Maybe I should not have swapped the lines?
Anyway, there are a lot of serial.txt files
for Apple II/IIc etc.. But NONE of them
directly show a DIN 5 -to- DB 9 wiring
diagram for NULL MODEM..
Anybody know what I am doing wrong? ..
Short of having a bad port?
