Hello.  I just got my hands on an Epson lq800.  I've attached it to my GS
via the grappler+ that came with my 2e (yeah I know, getting complicated)
set the jumpers on the g+ to off on on on, which apparently is the setting
for epson printers.  I'm using the epson driver for gsos6.0.1.

And it *mostly* works.  It doesn't like teachtext much - the better text 
mode is nearly unreadable from scrambling, and the better color mode is
generally poorly aligned and sometimes the printer pages half a page 
for no apparent reason.

It will print in teachtext's draft mode just fine.

When I use it with Orca C (the reason I bought it, really) it works, but
it double spaces everything and gets somewhat confused over certain characters.

I have not checked the jumpers on the printer yet.

Suggestions?
