Requesting Information Regarding Apple II Directory Structures/Etc.

Here is the deal...

I want to create a Windows app that will allow you to take any normal files off
yer PC hard disk (.shk,.zip etc) and "move" them into some sort of disk image
file.

You know, like this scenario..

	JoeSixpack downloads PhrackGS.shk from asimov, but only has
	download capability with the PC. He also runs an emulator
	like XGS or something. He fires up this magical software that
	allows him to "move" the file to a virtual disk image, so the
	emulator can "see it".

What I need is some sample source code, or a detailed description of how the
disk/directory information is stored in ProDos format. I remember some of the
Dos3.3 stuff, but it has been a long time, so I need a refresher course.

Once I have this information, moving downloaded files to this virtual disk
image will be a snap.... just drag and drop..

let me know...
