I'm not in any rush to pull the RamFast out of my GS and put it in my
//e to test anything out, so I'm just speaking off the cuff:

Tim -- Attaching the CDROM isn't the problem.  It's getting the //e to
make use of it.  See, all the drivers needed to use a device are GSOS
files, so while you could put the card in the computer and the drive on
the card, and have the card utilities identify the NEC CDROM as being
on the chain, that's as far as anything can go on a //e.

Even us GS users don't have it perfect.  Most CD's will come up on the
Finder desktop, not always of their own accord but once the user has
gone to the card utilities and had the card recognise there is a drive
on the chain (it's not like sticking in a floppy, it's like turning on
a hard drive).  And being ISO 9660 or HFS or whatever, you can't get
access to the CDROM's contents via an 8-bit ProDOS program.
