The Immortal GS -- copy protection hurts!

I rediscovered The Immortal recently on Bernie. I managed, after much
digging around, to find both of the disks and converted them into Disk
Copy images.

However, three tons of digging in my house has not unearthed the
instruction manual that came with it -- which contains the
copy-protection stuff. So, level 1 is still as much fun as it always
was, but I can't get any further.

Can someone help me out here? I've tried searching for a cracked image,
but none seem to be around.

I'm trying to think of a way to prove that I did buy the game originally
(from Big Red), but nothing really springs to mind.
