Oh come on...it's not evil. :-)  It just needs to be the only device
in the SCSI chain.  And of course it needs it's own special cable.
The evil would be Iomega trying to pass this off as a good, decent
working product.

The general 'guess' on the Parallel/SCSI version of Zip Drive is
that if on a SCSI chain and there's more devices than just the Zip,
it get's confused as to whether it supposed to be operating in
parallel or SCSI mode.  (Actually, SCSI is a parallel data transfer
mode...maybe that's where it's getting confused.)

Me, Other than problems with cartridges, haven't ever really had
a problem with a SyQuest drive.  And I've had less problems with
my SyQuest carts than a friend has had with Zip disks.
