I agree such a system is worth more in pieces than as a whole system.

FWIW, the last complete gs system I picked up consisted of:

ROM 3 system, monitor, keyboard & mouse
4 meg memory board
original apple memory board
100 meg Quantum hard drive
ramfast SCSI card
apple SCSI card
PC transporter & drives (including installation video)
3.5" drive
5.25" duodisk
Imagewriter II printer
5 *large* boxes of books & software

I paid $0 for this setup, just 4 hours driving to the guys house to
pick it up, and 4 hours driving back home.  My car was *loaded*,
trunk, back seat, front passenger seat!!!

Granted, I was extremely lucky, in the right place at the right time,
but asking $700 for *any* Apple // in 1998 in insane.
