I believe the UDC controller card or the PC Transporter will do it.
The Unidisk 3.5 would probably be a much better 3.5" drive for the
//e, though.

Don't ask me why Apple named them that, but I'm pretty sure those "I/O
Controllers" are cards for using the DuoDisk drive.

AFAIK, it is a one-way parallel card, so even the paralel modems
wouldn't work.

It's probably functionally identical with the added benefit of an RGB
port.

The monitor should work fine, but I'd strive for color, if I were you.
The VCR is apt to show 80-column stuff pretty poorly, however.  For a
while, I had to use 2 monitors--a not-so-sharp color monitor for color
AND a monochrome monitor for sharp 80-column stuff.  If you want to
see 80 columns, hit Control-Reset and type
