Well this certainly doesn't apply to files on a 5.25 disk, as a 5.25 drive 
isn't reachable from the Finder. But if I get what you're saying, opening
ProDOS 8 app files on a 3.5 or hard disk volume in the Finder causes IIe 
Startup to run them directly, rather than just booting the IIe from the device
it expects to boot from. Is that so? I've only used my IIe card for running 
old DOS stuff off 5.25s so far since I've only had it and the Color Classic it 
lives in for about a month now.
