Two more good reason for emulators: Portability & Speed.
Bernie can run most any Apple II program, and it's a supported application,
receiving upgrades so as to make it faster, better and more compatible. And
the portability gives you tremendous advantages. I don't think anyone can
argue with the reasoning behind Apple II emulators. Emulators can never
replace the Apple II, but it can supplement the Apple II and ensure Apple II
software can continue to be run in the future.
There is one thing that bothers me about Apple II image files: Many of them
seem to have "Crack screens", from people who have hacked the program. Being
that I have a real Apple IIGs (& //e) I'd like to run the software in it's
original form in the emulator as I do on my real Apple II. Anyone have any
comments on this?
