Re: Reflections on the loss of the Official CSA2 FAQs

Humm, do I dare submit my opinions on this issue.
Both Nath and Turley have out a lot of effort into the a2 community
and tried to win the favor of many, yet both went about things the wrong
way. Turley slapped on and over curtious sounding behavior masking
the fact that he was frre copying software and giving it to other peopl.
Nathan ranted and raved and sometime strayed from his christian native
ethics. The whole priracy issue is a tricky one, but I don't think it hurts
the a2 cimmunity as so much previously proclaimed. I undersatnd it does hurt
the developers, but you realize people who pirate software would either
most likely not buy it in the first place, can not afford it, or
believe in nor purchasing software that they have not given a test run
first. I know their is lots of software I have not baught either
beacuse I haven't been able to see/try it. Now as far as software that is
no longer availbe on the commercial market or software that was never
released is different. As a previous developer I think it's still
important to respect some authors copyrights. I think the author should
be contact first to see if they can reclassify or rerelease it. Personally
I like playing classic seirra games. When ever possible I would prefer
to purchase the original title, but if I had to I might consider
alternative sorces. Fortunatly I've never had that problem and have bought
just abought the titles by sierra/dynamix. Although if anyone wants to sell me
a one of their titles I would be more glad to hear your offer for any
platform. I've emailed sierra before about posible rereleasing some of
their previous sira games, but I have never gotten a response.
