     As Neil Parker points out (and as Dr. Tom informed me yesterday),
there is some problem with connecting via the DNS ('name') URL. You can
use ...

ftp://128.255.21.234/apple2/

P.S. BTW, it may take a few days for the most recent newsgroup FAQS--
the ones posted here on Saturday-- to become available on Ground. They
