The problem may be that you are shrinking files which have a
Resource part. For example, IIgs Teach type files include a resource
fork. Nulib will not unshrink a file which includes a Resource fork.
Another possibility is that the snag was introduced in the
Apple-to-PC transfer. If your Apple II telecom program is set to send a
Binary II header (e.g. "Binary Up", etc. is set to ON), this could
produce a file which Nulib would view as 'messed up'. Make sure that
your Apple telecom program does not attach a Binary II header. Also, do
not ask ShrinkIt to attach a Binary II header at the time you create a
.SHK file.
Nulib works fine for unshrinking many kinds of files. It is very
handy for Apple-to-PC Text file transfers because Apple II text files
can be sent in .SHK form and unshrinked on the PC via Nulib into PC text
format.
It may be that you hit a snag just using Nulib. It is a DOS program
with 'switches' to set options in the command line-- a lot like using
the DOS version of pkZip. Nulib documentation is fairly thorough; but,
it lacks good examples and is not very well organized. So, you may need
to experiment. During this learning process, it may help to copy the
.SHK file you want to work with to the same directory as Nulib.
