W3D crash found
Hey all... I sent word of this to Sheppy before posting this publicly
so I can't be accused of publicly sniping. 'Fact, this isn't a rant,
it's a heads-up because it's not irrevocable. :)
I've discovered something that will cause Wolfenstein3D to crash upon
launching. Sheppyware's own utility Tsukue (which changes the auxtype
on some S16 files so they don't put up the text screen between quitting
and re-entering Finder) changes the auxtype of Wolfenstein's program
file to DB02. But I've discovered that Wolf3D will only launch faith-
fully [once in awhile, under a shiftboot, 'changed' W3D does launch] if
the auxtype hasn't been changed. The fix is pretty obvious -- if Wolf
crashes on startup, disabling the keyboard, coldboot and change the
auxtype of the runnable file back to 0000.
Don't know if anyone else has come across this problem. But it exists.
And I have yet to find ANY treasure in the Treasure Hunt scenario. :)
