Not necessarily. For example, Apple should have been less cute with
its pre-IIgs secrecy and, in early 1985, just announced that the
65816-based GS was in prototyping. If they had, many Apple II users
would not have gone to Amiga, Atari-ST, and PC during 1985 and 1986.

Essentially, Sandy's page is both a GS Upgrade promotional and a
device/place for 'brain storming' solutions. Promotion is work. So is
solution-finding.

In the case of the GS Upgrade page, it seems to be paying off. For
example, it now seems clear that any significant non-Apple Inc. upgrade
must be via an add-on box.

Also, it seems clear that the specific bottleneck to expansion has
been identified. It is the need to convert current GS video (all 'old
Apple' and GS modes) for display on modern monitors. This can be done
via an in-GS Slot card. There is no need to add additional display modes
on this card; that can be done via a separate video board in the
expansion box.
