i have such a //e to gs conver kit running my fv/metal bbs program as a
door off my www site/telnet site you can reach from the internet at
www.lost-gonzo.com or lost-gonzo.com

anyway..mine came with a rom 01 chip..i think all the apple // to gs
upgrade kits were rom 01...the only prob i've ever had with them is some
mem cards don't fit cause they don't have the /slant in the front..are
square and they physically don't fit in the case...other then that it
has worked flawlessly (except for burning out some //e power supplies)
since 1991 running with a twgs 14mhz upgrade card as a bbs door running
my old software on this site

whatever..my 2c worth

and everyone is talking about apple 2 hardware projects...a simple one
(steve bugie may be doing this) is to simply go to a metal works
shop..and get a back plate stamped out to with gs ports like this
upgrade kit has (actuall bottom of //e case and gs backplate port setup
for the //e kit...) in quanity you could sell this and with mods to
//gs motherboard...you could remake a //gs kit for the //e cases

directions on how to mod the motherboard for the case/whatever..and
backplate..maybe even a sticker like the one i have that says //gs in
front on //e case rather then //e label

anyway steve buggie(sp?) on this newsgroup has a mod for this not sure
if a kit like this thou

anyway no copyright violations on this hardware mod on the case i'm
pretty sure
