In that case, one wonders: "What is your problem?"

Actually, the current version is at least v1.1. That was the
designation at the time of my last download from the site on 1or 2 May,
1998. It may be higher by now.
V1.1 was tested and no longer exhibited the bug which plagued the
original release. A notice to this effect was posted on Csa2. Below is
an excerpt from my post of 3 May, 1998:

The new version of Wolf3D is available at the same place ...
Wolf3Dv11.bxy is new version of Wolf3D.
Or for a prettier screen with more options, you can go to ...
http://www.sheppyware.net/software/wolf3d_gs/downloads.html
The new version seems to be free of the crash bug.
<<
In short, the new version includes a _fix_ for the crash _bug_
which allows the game to run fine under standard System 6.0.1 with no
special system patches or other kludges.
If you wish to blame Rubywand for helping to keep users from
ripping apart their systems because they crashed running the original
version, feel free.
If, in your desire to blame someone for something, you want to take
a few swipes at Apple's GS System programmers, fine.
The fact remains that the game had a bug and now it is fixed. If
this gives you a problem, deal with it as best you can.
