Yes it did.  I didn't get my machine upgraded to ROM 01 until the middle
of 1988 (the ROMs weren't available through dealers here until then),
and I was definitely making use of A.D.M. before then.

Second point of evidence: it is mentioned in the IIgs Owner's Guide that
came with the machine.  (On page 110 there is a picture of the CDA menu
which only shows Control Panel and Quit, but there is a margin note
beside this saying "The Desk Accessories menu will also include an
accessory called Alternate Display Mode.")

(I could go to the trouble of putting the ROM back into my machine, but
they are currently in different locations, so it isn't straightforward.)
