Font opinions?

Hi all.

Kids like using fonts (too many of them!)
so I have kept installation on our GS to the standard ones installed
or I would spend all my time reading Old English (gang-stylin)
-- oops, I take that back, our kids are all angels! --

well, to the point, I am willing to loosen up & install more.
so come the questions: w/  1 meg of ram free & plenty of hard
drive space, any idea of a good limit to numbers of fonts to run?

more to the point, does anyone have good suggestions of fonts to install?
I have plenty available from A2-central disks, but not inclined to look at
them all, so hope for your ideas on fonts that

Are not too ornate and will look good on a LASERWRITER! 
(as Venice does not, for example)
