That is not what I said at all. I said that the computer is no longer made and
that NO ONE could make a living at this point by developing software or
hardware for the GS. I doubt if the producer of SuperConvert 4 made enough
money to retire on. I did purchase the latest version, did you? Oh, and it
still has some bugs in it (as was documented earlier) and I have seen no post
that the bugs have been corrected. Nor, as a registered user, have I received
word of an upgrade. As for hardware, besides buying a lot of second hand Apple
equipment last year, I did buy about $500 worth of new equipment for my Apple
IIs, did you? Simply put, development will sell some goods; not enough to make
a living on. That changes if you are sponging off your parents, grilfriend or
boyfriend. I am 100% certain that NO ONE can make a full time living developing
Apple II software or hardware at this stage of the game. Software piracy of 20
year old titles has no impact on this.
I will go on record as saying, if something good comes out for the Apple
(non-Mac) line, I will BUY it. So, if you are a developer and you want to sell
some goods, let me know! Supertimer, what was the last thing you bought for
your Apple? How much did you spend in the last two years on new equipment? I've
done my share.
