Not much.
The ZIP CHIP stopped being manufactured quite a long time ago - almost
certainly before Apple stopped selling the Apple IIe. The ZIP GS had
been available until relatively recently, as far as I know.
I expect that sales of these products had dried up, and ZIP
Technology/REMcorp couldn't justify making any more.
Another factor may have been the custom hardware (ASIC) required - I
seem to recall hearing that they had to switch fabricators at some
point, and this may have caused supply problems.
