     It would be a _very_ nice resource! The only Computist on-file
originals in my possession are the reviews, columns, other articles, and
programs I did for the magazine. A few of the programs might be
interesting to users, maybe some of the stuff from other magazines and
some unpublished software, too. You and Dr. Tom-- he made the same
suggestion a while back-- are right; there really is no good reason not
to make the stuff available.


     Regarding the bulk of the enormous treasure trove of information
and program listings published in Computist, there is much more than
just copy and deprotection information. Computist published games,
hardware projects, game hints, programs to map the Ultimas and other
adventures, game 'character editors', Apple II ROM mods, etc., plus
hundreds of hardware and software reviews.

     Still, there is a _lot_ of deprotection info. Chuck Haight, the
publisher and, for many years, editor of Computist believed copy and
deprotection information was important to users. Once or twice I
suggested that the magazine might be over doing the cracks & deprotects
stuff; but, Chuck was the Elder and the Boss and that was that. To a
fair degree, his instincts have proved out. Deprotection made today's
old wares archives possible and the information is still in demand.

     Anyway, the only person likely to have all or most of the Text file
or wp originals is Chuck Haight. As the owner, he would be the one to
contact for setting up a free or for sale on-CD release of the Computist
archives.
