Re: help where to find oregon trail
Hey Slick, concerning your comments to peabrain - (as you labeled the poster of
the request), perhaps you should do as I suggested he do and pay a visit to
Ground. You can find an archive there that's a disk full of public domain
versions of Oregon Trail, from text only - very early editions (before MECC got
hold of it and released their copyrighted rewrite of it) up to and including a
graphic version very, very close to the MECC copyright release.
And, guess what? They are all public domain and legal to distriburte or do
anything else you want with them.
Shall I do a follow-up post with the actual URL to it - for you? BTW, if you
wanted to really make a backup copy of your MECC copyright version - it can be
done in a number of ways. The MECC copy program will do it, (which is legally
now available to the public) - Copy II+ versions 7.1 thru 9.1 will do it and
even a well respected Professor, who does very skillful Apple II hardware
modifications at very fair prices - living in New Mexico - could do it for you,
in any of the above manners - if you can't. Just ask him! It legal, if you
send him your original disk to make you a backup copy with.
Cheers,
Tom
