I just finish a long telcon with Mike (Ralph) Searl about the two programs
which he authored and developed; GameBoy GS Emulator and QuikTimeGS Converter,
concerning their status, degree of development, etc.
He's sending them both to me - ASAP with the src. codes for both with
authorization and transfer of the Copyright to me to do with them as I wish.
I'll be releasing them both with the src. codes to public domain - as
ShrinkitGS archives, by uploads to Ground, my web site and ftp site - as well
as to Marvin's ftp site and Caltech A2 ftp site - shortly after I receive them
- try them out and review everything he sends for them both.
BTW, during our telephone conversation - Mike told me he's completely abandoned
all efforts in programming now with all computer platforms. I hope somebody
with the skills and motivation to continue with their development and updates
will do them justice when I release them to public domain.
As a final positive note and ray of hope for everybody to think about and
ponder over - I've made arrangements with a good friend and very skilled
programmer to work on a project with him for the development, port and eventual
freeware release of a graphic web browser for the Apple IIgs, based on the src.
codes obtained for Netscape.
Provided nobody else has done such within the next six months and made it
available to the public as a freeware
release without any restrictions on distribution, including the needed tcp/ip
and ppp bundles required for such a program port - then, I'll make certain this
occurs with the freeware release of our projects port and program with it's
src. codes for all - before moving on to my new career efforts this coming
December.
Cheers,
Tom
