the Jr. High school i went to had Apple ][ machines. as a 9th grader,
one period was split into four classes, two to a semester (a quarter
long, each). they went something like Home Ec/IA, Health, Study Hall,
and Speech. when it came time for us to shift into Study Hall, they
gave us an option: we could learn how to program on the computer
instead! :)
as it happened, the instructors were winging it. they were using the
Apple ][ User's Guide as a reference. <g> i managed to get my hands
on a copy. by the time the class finished, i knew more about the
Apple than the instructors! ;)
we had Apple ][, ][+, and (eventually) one or two //e machines. when
i was in the Navy, i bought a GS.
