You obviously weren't around when this group was named comp.sys.apple. When
the apple became apple2, lotsa people complained that the group didn't make
it to their host after the change. It's much easier said than done.

I'm not keen on cryptic group names myself. The group alt.tv.mwc never had
much traffic since not so many people knew that it was for Married with
Children.
