Old 286 motherboards-- hunt around computer scrapyards or the like.

No, the CDA menu uses the 40/80 column setting from the Control
Panel -> Display screen, as does the initial poweron/bootup screens.
Sounds like the last person to use the machine preferred that, but you
can put it back to something you expect.
