When running true GS/OS apps, using apple's design specifications and user
interface requirements, there should be NO compatibility issues.

But certain development houses "usurped" the toolbox calls, or did strange
things by going direct to the hardware. Unfortunately, some of the things they
tried to do didn't work right on a ROM03.

A prime example was Dungeon Master. They had to release 2 versions of it,
because they had done something strange with memory allocation that didn't work
on a ROM03. FTA (the demo people) had a few demos that wouldn't run under a
rom03 due to hardware specific routines.

It's kind of funny how people gloss these issues over, and have the gall to
criticize the win32 API. For all the non-standard and confusing hardware
available, the Win32 API and the associated microkernel sure do a wonderful job
of abstracting hardware.
