The best way to upgrade your Mac 68k -- ditch the 68k, go to
http://www.emulators.com/ and get the 68040 Quadra emulator
and install it on a Pentium II PC.  Migrate all your Mac files to
your Pentium plus emulator.  With a 233Mhz Pentium II, that
fake Mac will run those software bazillion times faster than a
real Quadra.  Much cheaper than going PowerMac too and when
Apple croaks, you'll still have an industry accepted computer!

Ha!  Try real pre-emtive multitasking under Win 95 or Win NT!

It will run your Quadra software in a window and have Netscape
humming in PC mode in another!

You mean 16-bit sound?  The IIGS has 8-bit sound, but it can also
run up 44KHz, which is the sample rate.  Several people have posted
about the Nyquist Sampling Theorem.  It states that you are only
going to capture sound that's half your sample rate...that's 22KHz
...true of IIGS, Mac, and all digital audio equipment...

Pentium II running Gemulator is orders of magnitude better than
a real Quadra!
