Re: DOS 1.x ?

Normally the VisiCalc disk should boot up on it's own. However, since you
have a "original" version, it is most likely a DOS 3.2 disk. (In fact I have
that original version also!!!). Almost every AppleII I have seen was
"upgraded" to run DOS 3.3 (a few chips on the disk controller card had to be
replaced). But since you have one of the newer and advanced Apples (well, at
least compared to my II+), then you need to boot your IIe with a system disk
(the DOS 3.3 master). At the ] prompt you must then run a program called
BOOT13 (type "BRUN BOOT13"). The program will ask you what slot to boot
from...you should enter 6 (where most drives are installed). BEFORE you hit
the Enter key (or RETURN??) insert your VisiCalc disk. When you hit RETURN
key, the Apple will boot the DOS 3.2 disk.

Have fun.....and VisiCalc really is amazing......that program sold a huge
amount of Apples until VisiCalc became available on other machines!

I have acquired a collector's item, an Apple IIe which is in good
working order (together with an original version of Visicalc!).
Where can I get a bootup floppy of DOS to get things going?
