Well, I for one DO care that Microsoft may drop support for DOS.
Almost every game title I own runs under DOS and I will not upgrade to
an operating system that will not allow me to continue to run them.

It really bothers me to see all these games titles coming out lately
that REQUIRE Windows and won't run from DOS.  There is no reason for
it and the games would run much better or on slower machines if they
ran in DOS.  I have Windows 95 on my 486 but I only run games like
solitaire and other non-arcade type games in it.  Everything else gets
run from DOS to improve performance.

I might finally end up getting a Pentium some time this year but it
won't be an incredibly fast one so I will continue to be concerned
about performance.  I see no reason why I should purposely make a
program run slower than it can.

Keep in mind that this is all from the point of view of a home user.
I don't use my machine for anything business related.  I use it for
games, accessing the net, programming and the occasional word
processing, data basing, et al.

Personally, I probably wouldn't be using Windows 95 if my brother
hadn't needed me to upgrade to do some programming for him and then
later, I was given a Windows 95 CD-ROM for free.  These are the main
reasons I am using it at all.
