Nice attempt at an argument here Joe. *IF* I come up with 'hard proof' (A standard
that I would hold anyone to) I'll be sure to let you know. At least when *I* post
something that is a 'rumor', I state that up front. Something *YOU* Joe Raosta does
not do.

The Newton division, though its products have been selling well recently, have
historically not been profitable.

And I can't find the same quote on Rik Ford's page.

The key word is historically.

Facts to support your no leaching involved statement.
And with the comp.sys.apple2 added, perhaps some defenders of the 6502 faith will
comment on the 'proof' Joe will offer.

Really? A replacement? Is this the same book of history that has Steve Jobs as the
creator and supporter of the Mac from the start?

[I SOOOOO look forward to seeing the response to the above line. You see, it's bait
for Joe.]

And, wasn't the Newton project supposed to be a replacement for the MacOS? Except,
the attitude of "If it's not MacOS, it's not Apple" kept the project from moving in
the direction of it's design concept.

Really? The future was spinning off Newton to Newton Inc. That future was killed
by Steve Jobs, CEO of cartoon maker Pixar.

As this is SO fun.

The Newton division, though its products have been selling well recently, have

I look forward to your acknologement of Apples statement.

And, with the HISTORIC Apple marketing, I'm sure MacLite will gain the %2 of the
market, just like the Mac.

Really? For some reason, Palm Pilot disproves that concept.

Your good at posting nonsense Joe. I noted that first when you showed up in
comp.newton.misc spewing your bullshit.

Given MOST OF THE WORLDS desktops look like Windows, again, how is a further tie to
the niche MacOS benifits Apple's handheld efforts?

Advantages compared to what?

In your mindless MacOS support, you are advocating the scrapping of a platform WITH
software AND developers, for a platform with no known software (see your above
line), no known programmers, and what partners will bother with Apple after the
burning of the Newton/Mac Clones?
