I agree with this assessment. A larger market can do wonders.
I was emailed by CMD, a Commodore 64 and C128 developer, in
regards to a C= drive interface cable for the Apple II to control C=
drives (which are capable of reading and writing MFM MS-DOS).
The representative basically said that it is very possible to
control the drives on the SmartPort, but the A2 market is too
small for them to see making a reasonable investment. That
explains why we have less hardware development than the
Commodore world...
A second reason is probably....Commodore developers still
give a damn about their OWN copyrighted software. Not some
self-proclaimed cop seeing pirates all over the place, when the
author of GeoFAX discovered that someone uploaded his
commercial software to a BBS, Commodore users lined up in
support of him (and he was willing to make the effort to protect
his own software).
It is not like our hardware is inferior -- we have Wolf 3D and they
don't!

Since Dr. Tom disapeared, the trash has halved, but THAT OTHER
ASSHOLE is still here (and that's NOT Rubywand).
When someone is dancing around, acting like a jerk, and attacking
everyone who tries to enjoy the Apple II (I am NOT a pirate), then
you end up with shit like this.
